Our Story

About IASV

Rooted in faith, grown in community — serving Harrisonburg since 1989.

Islamic Center of
Shenandoah Valley

The Islamic Association of Shenandoah Valley (IASV) is a non-profit organization established in 1989 by a small Muslim community in the Harrisonburg Metropolitan area. Our main worship facility opened in 1999 after years of volunteer-driven effort and community dedication.

Today our center includes a main prayer hall, general-purpose hall, dome, and minaret — a landmark of the Muslim presence in the Shenandoah Valley.

وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا

"Hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together, and do not become divided." — Quran 3:103
